Stable Linux VPN solutions for remote access and branch connectivity over any link.

Virtual Private Network

A Virtual Private Network ("VPN") is a way to connect to a company network securely over the Internet. It enables remote workers to access company resources (file sharing, email, applications) and connects multiple branch offices or locations.

We provide reliable VPN solutions designed to work with virtually any network setup or connection type, from fibre and ADSL to 3G/4G/5G, Diginet, and GPRS. Our solutions feature comprehensive SSL encryption for maximum security, ensuring they are user-friendly, expandable, dependable, and robust.

Our solutions are tried and tested as one of the most stable VPN offerings on the South African market, with fully featured SSL functionality for complete peace of mind — making them easy, scalable, reliable, stable and secure. We pair VPN deployments with network monitoring and security assessments to keep your remote access infrastructure protected, and run VPN servers on hardened Linux servers for businesses across Johannesburg, Cape Town, and South Africa.

Types of VPN Solutions

We offer two primary VPN configurations, each designed for a specific use case — remote worker access or multi-site branch connectivity.

Client-Server VPN

This solution allows users working offsite or from home to access company resources such as file sharing, mail, Pastel, or any other office-based services. A Linux-based PC/server is set up on the network that needs to be accessed, and a VPN Client (small piece of software) is installed on any PC/laptop that needs to gain access to the company resources.

  • Compatible with various connectivity options (Fibre, ADSL, 4G)
  • Supports Windows, Linux, and Mac clients
  • Once-off cost with only ISP charges as ongoing expense
  • PC/server required (can be supplied by us or client)

Site-to-Site VPN

This solution connects two or three branches/sites using Linux-based computers. A Linux-based VPN server is set up on either side of the network, enabling seamless data flow between locations.

  • Perfect for branch office connectivity
  • Once-off installation fee
  • Only ongoing cost is ISP data bundles
  • PC required at each site (can be supplied)

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about VPN solutions from South African businesses.

What is the difference between OpenVPN and WireGuard?
OpenVPN is a mature, battle-tested VPN protocol with broad compatibility across all platforms and connection types. WireGuard (via Headscale) is a newer, faster protocol with a simpler codebase and better performance on modern hardware. For most South African businesses, OpenVPN offers maximum compatibility while WireGuard/Headscale suits teams wanting a modern zero-config mesh VPN.
Can a VPN work over South Africa's 4G/LTE mobile networks?
Yes. Our VPN solutions are designed to work over any internet connection — fibre, ADSL, 4G/LTE, 5G, and even GPRS. This makes them ideal for South African field workers, remote staff, and branch offices that rely on mobile data rather than fixed-line connectivity.
How many users can connect to a VPN simultaneously?
There is no hard limit — it depends on the server hardware and bandwidth available. We size the VPN server appropriately for your expected concurrent user count. For growing businesses in Johannesburg or Cape Town, we can also configure multiple VPN servers for load balancing and failover.
Do you monitor VPN infrastructure after deployment?
Yes. We can pair your VPN deployment with network monitoring to track uptime, connection counts, and bandwidth usage. We also recommend periodic security assessments to ensure your VPN configuration remains hardened against evolving threats.
What does VPN installation cost for a South African business?
Basic VPN installation starts at R5,000 excl. VAT plus travel. Hardware costs depend on your requirements — we can supply or use existing equipment. Optional maintenance contracts are available. Contact us for a quote tailored to your setup.
